The cassowary is a large, flightless bird native to the tropical forests of New Guinea, nearby islands, and northern Australia. Known for its striking appearance with glossy black feathers, bright blue and red skin on its neck and head, and a prominent casque atop its head, the cassowary is also infamous for its powerful legs and sharp claws, making it one of the most dangerous birds in the world.
